Thank you, Pentangle Arts for hosting our Acoustic Harmony concert on May 24th! We were so glad to be back on the stage at the Woodstock Town Hall.
The choruses and quartets of the BHS Hanover had a great evening on the stage of the Woodstock Town Hall on May 24, 2024. It was a pleasure to entertain the audience with selections from our repertoire of barbeshop and a cappella music. We opened the show with Seven Bridges Road, the song which has become our signature number. After which the VoxStars took the stage to perform I Just Found Out About Love, Everything, and the moving Like I'm Gonna Lose You.
The North Country Chordsmen took over from the VoxStars to perform country and bluegrass songs Rocky Top and Boot Scootin' Boogie, followed by Pure Imagination of Willy Wonka film fame.
After a performance of Miranda Lambert's Mama's Broken Heart by the Girls Night Out quartet and barbershop standard I've Been Working on the Railroad by quarte 91 North, we invited the audience to join in on some tag singing before launching into one of our newest joing chorus numbers, the 70s classic Still The One.
Having reached the midpoint of the show, each chorus again returned to the stage to sing a second set, with songs like You've Got A Friend in Me, Let There Be Peace on Earth, and the playful As Long As I Got You from the Chordsmen, and film numbers A Million Dreams, Into The Unknown, and Can't Stop the Feelin' by the VoxStars. Our final quartet, Blue Streak performed film classic Over The Rainbow.
The evening wrapped up with our America the Beautiful Overlay, a sing-along version with the audience peforming the primary melody, and we closed the show with our song of fellowship, Keep The Whole World Singing.
Thank you to Bill and Lauran Corson for all your efforts to organize the concert and to the staff of Pentangle Arts and to all our singers.
